Key Purpose:
Hyve is looking for a Business Development Director, New Business role to join our NYC-based team and drive sponsorship and partnership sales across our Global Brands portfolio. Our Global Brands portfolio includes Shoptalk, Groceryshop, Fintech Meetup and Possible.
We are looking for an individual who has a strong track record for upselling existing business, that is self-motivated and thrives in a fast paced environment! This individual should possess strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to uncover emerging new segments and expand existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:
- As a Business Development Director, you will:
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets
- Manage and build pipeline of new business within assigned categories/segments
- Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities
- Respond to customer inquiries quickly and prioritize activities with customers at different stages in the sales process
- Utilize CRM to track and report account activity accurately and in a timely manner
- Oversee customer experience from prospect through event execution
- Work collaboratively with other sales team members and other departments
- Stay informed on industry trends and engage with the larger retail tech industry
- Study the market and identify new trends and key players
Skills & Experiences:
- To be successful in this role, you must have/be:
- Strong consultative sales experience
- Motivated, self-driven, confident, and professional in approach with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- Experience within a KPI / target driven environment
- Passionate about the prospect of delivering creative event solutions to new clients and helping them transform their business
- Demonstrated experience developing relationships with executives within Fortune 500 organizations in an Outside Sales B2B capacity
- A demonstrable track record of sales success
- A flair for strong relationship building on the telephone at all levels
- Strong interpersonal, organization and time management skills
- Previous B2B sales experience (preferably telephone sales) is desirable
- Previous event experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage CRM database, opportunity pipeline and lead cultivation, including holistic overview of all outstanding communications and prospect relationship
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- The salary band for this position ranges from 100,000 – 120,000 based on experience
- This position will be eligible for a competitive commission structure
