Role Summary
To oversee the construction project and to act as the link between various project parties. Lead and manage the on-site construction team, and oversee all work on site. Be responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are available on-site at all times. Coordinate with inspection authorities.
Success is measured by completing projects on time and within budget, and never compromising on quality. Must be a strong leader, proactive, and perform well under pressure.
Key Role Responsibilities
Manages fairly complex stand-alone projects from start to finish.
Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow.
Manages and oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, and Quality,.
Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
Coordinates and manages the project site's care, custody, and control.
Leads various meetings including daily standup and weekly trade meetings.
Attends, manages, and participates in appropriate progress and/or project OAC meetings.
May be responsible for tracking and monitoring project budget and costs by using the project management systems cost reports and data from the project manager.
Communicates key project information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
Manages material and equipment needs for the project.
Ensures quality compliance through the use of specifications and setting quality standards.
Supports the project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating activities with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
Partners with project management to identify schedules and costs associated with project changes.
Participates in the negotiation process with the owner and architect to gain agreement for project changes.
Participates in project buyout meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Experience
5 years of construction experience.
3 years of field supervision experience.
