Responsible to the Facilities Supervisor, the Janitorial/Housekeeping Assistant ensures the cleanliness of the school buildings as well as supports the preventive maintenance plan for school buildings, and grounds.
Cleaning Responsibilities:
Vacuum and sweep common areas
Mop bathroom floors, clean toilets and countertops
Remove trash and replace bags
Stock and maintain cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, etc…
Let Facilities Supervisor know if any supplies are needed
Follow all health and safety regulations
Report property damage or larger maintenance related concerns as encountered
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Preferred experience as a Cleaner, Housekeeper, Janitor, etc...
Ability to carry and handle equipment and supplies
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
Consistent work history with previous physical job duties
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work mainly standing and walking, including multiple staircases
Integrity
Ability to work independently
Reliability and punctuality and with others
Support and promote a culture of inclusion and respect among students and fellow staff in our school and community
Be able to pass a background check
Reports to: Facilities Supervisor
EstimatedSchedule/Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week, generally Monday through Friday 7AM to 3PM
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
