We are looking for a Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Ramsey. This role is responsible for the Ramsey facility’s shipping and warehouse departments.  This includes leading all warehouse functions, parcel shipping, LTL and truck shipments.  The position oversees 1st and 2nd shift shipping and warehouse staffing and inventory needs.

What you will be responsible for:

Shipping

• Plan, organize and direct the shipping operation to ensure the most effective utilization of all resources.
• Initiate plans and processes which minimize shipping costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, material and capital.
• Sets daily shipping plans and overall training needs for all shipping shifts. May provide work direction to non-direct reports on 3^rd or weekend shifts.
• Assure attainment of business objectives and shipping schedules while ensuring shipment standards that will exceed our customer’s expectations.
• Implement shipping strategies and actions that support the company’s strategic initiatives.
• Encourage and facilitate the incorporation of Lean objectives and processes.
• Manage labor in an efficient and cost effective manner while still meeting all shipping deadlines.

Warehouse

• Lead a team that maintains accuracy of inventory counts through a regular cycle count program.
• Work with Sr. Lead to manage carrier contacts and understanding the regulations required to support shipping products
• Supervise receiving, storing, and processing of material and the filling and shipping of intercompany transfers and customer orders.
• Prioritize workload consistent with service level goals to support customer satisfaction.
• Provides training on methods and use of equipment used in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; communicates changes to warehouse or company processes and procedures.

Combined

• Work effectively with all other departments to meet deadlines, objectives and ship dates.
• Meets with team members on a daily basis to review the Value Stream’s SQDC boards plus reports on progress during the daily Gemba walk.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):

• Four-year degree preferred in business and/or 5 years of experience supervising a shipping/warehouse operation
• 3- 5 years of Supervisory experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment
• High energy level required
• Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, proven organizational and planning abilities as well as outstanding problem solving skills
• Previous experience in supervising a staff while providing direction to people not reporting directly to you is preferred
