We are looking for a Production Manager to join our team in Ramsey. The Production Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of multiple value streams in the plant across multiple shifts. This position has overall accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for their assigned value streams. Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a strong understanding of the print operations processes.
What you will be responsible for:
- Develop and lead high achieving teams ensuring each value streams ability to achieve operational targets
- Develop and implement processes and procedures continuously improving in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Work in a cross functional capacity to address operational challenges
- Establish group assignments, accountabilities, and standard work for all roles in production area
- Champion a flexible workforce that flexes employees as needed on a daily/weekly/seasonal basis
- Assist in achieving labor and cost of goods financial targets throughout the operational process
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operation to ensure the most effective utilization of all resources
- Coach, mentor and develop next level of leads and supervisors throughout the production process
- Promote and develop employee relations and communications on the production line
- Conduct periodic performance reviews
- Report relevant shift and department status
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
- Encourage and facilitate the incorporation of Lean objectives and processes in all production departments
- Assure that all company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years manufacturing experience
- Prior experience with print operations highly desired( dye sublimation printing highly preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years management experience
- Proven ability to develop people
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events and/or Process Improvement
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues to resolution
- Ability to work in fast paced, demanding work environment
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, proven organizational and planning abilities as well as outstanding problem solving skills
- Ability to be flexible
- Strong computer skills
