Academic Manager
The Academic Manager position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor, Human Learning Systems. The Job Corps program is a federally funded residential training program. Job Corps’ mission is to educate and train youth ages 16-24 for successful careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
Summary of Duties: Responsible for organizing, planning, administering and directing the Academic Education program.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff members assigned to this department. Ensures staff members have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
- Develops and implements training plan for staff. Provides documented training to staff. Cross-trains department employees.
- Coordinates staff meetings. Ensures that all staff participates in Social Skills Training.
- Ensures department is compliant with all safety standards and expectations to include proper worker’s compensation reporting.
- Ensures department is in compliance with all DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements.
- Ensures that staff members meet the standards and expectations of the Department of Labor, Corporate and Center policies.
- Ensures the Center’s Academic program delivers quality services to the students to ensure their growth and development in all Career Success Standards.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field of study and four years of relevant Supervisory and teaching experience.
- Master’s Degree preferred
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid State Driver's License
