This position will be a hybrid role out of Niles, IL HQ!
Responsibilities
- You'll perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) analysis to resolve field quality issues using 8D methodology
- You'll develop and implement innovative quality assurance protocols (HW focus), tools and testing methods to ensure our finished products, sub-assemblies, and components meet the highest standards.
- You’ll support maintenance of line projects including continuous improvement projects, and evaluating effects of supplier, material and design changes on end product performance.
- You'll represent Corporate Quality Engineering by supporting new product development and special project teams, identifying quality risks through development and deploying APQP tools.
- You'll ensure all new products comply with Shure’s quality standards and applicable government regulations by developing and executing thorough new product evaluation testing.
- You'll conduct research and evaluate internal quality standards and procedures to identify improvements to Shure’s quality management system (QMS).
- You'll make quality visible to senior leadership through maintenance of communication dashboards for field and new product development.
- You'll provide training, guidance, and support to team members on quality principles and procedures.
- And you'll perform other duties as assigned, contributing to our continuous pursuit of quality excellence with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Quality Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a comprehensive knowledge of basic audio, acoustical, or RF principles.
- Nice to have: APQP
- ASQ Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE); Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB); Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB); Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is strongly preferred.
- Experienced in the use of Quality Tools, for example, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), 8 Discipline (8D), Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC), Plan Do Check Act (PDCA).Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Weibull Analysis. Knowledge of software quality tools is a plus
- Knowledge of working with Microsoft office products with significant focus on MS Excel
- Able to use professional concepts and apply company policies/procedures to work on problems/issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Familiarity with self-managed cross-functional work group principles.
- Hands on Knowledge of problem solving techniques including use of minitab software
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Team player & Self-motivated
- Organizing skills
- Conflict resolution skills is a must
- Intermediate-Advanced English language proficiency (written and spoken)
- Willing and capable of domestic and international air travel.
