Care Initiatives is seeking a Nurse Aide to join our
team!
Summary:
Under on-site supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Nurse Aide performs
indirect resident services which support the implementation of resident care
plans and contribute to a safe, clean, pleasant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Distribute ice/water, pitchers, trays, and
glasses to residents’ bedsides
- Strip and remake beds
- Report and repair or replacement needed when
observing condition of mattresses, beds, linens, and other bedroom furnishings
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance
with facility policy
- Assist in supervision of residents in the dining
room with menus, hand wipes, and documenting meal intake
- Clean dining room tables and chairs after meals
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions
to supervisor
- When requested by certified staff, assist in
transporting residents in wheelchairs to meals or activities
- Clean equipment used by residents such as
commodes, wheelchairs, whirlpool, beds, and bedrails
- Empty trash containers and replace liners,
disposing of trash in proper receptacle.
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping,
dusting, washing windows, vacuuming / shampooing carpets, cleaning upholstery,
cleaning light fixtures, and cleaning bathroom fixtures
- Dispense soap, paper towels, tissue and other
supplies as needed in resident rooms and general use areas
- Sort laundry by color, fabric, type,
preparing for wash by pre-soaking/spot-cleaning as needed
- Neatly fold and stack items from dryer by item
type, fabric content and size
- Follow material safety data sheets
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Skills and Experiences:
- Must be willing to participate in a Certified Nursing Assistant program at no expense
- Functional literacy in spoken and written
English language
- Proven track record of following written and
oral instructions, completing assignments completely, timely, and accurately
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and
communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- 1 year of providing resident care in applicable
skilled nursing environment
