Wastewater Operator (Entry Level)

Sidewinders Advance is actively seeking Wastewater Operators (entry-level) for open night shift roles in Ssardis, GA

• Pay: Starts at $15.00 hr (increased based on experience and applicable certification)
• Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Required for Wastewater Operators:

• Must pass a Criminal background DMV Driving record check and drug screening
• Must have a High school diploma or GED
• Preferred - Valid Wastwater certification/license
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Preferred - Have at least one year of wastewater operator experience
• Must have knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operations of engines, pumps, and related equipment, general maintenance work, safe work practices, and basic biological/chemical principles

Duties of Wastewater Operators:

• Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant including maintenance of equipment, quality control/testing, and day-to-day activities on an assigned shift.
• This position typically holds an intermediate or entry-level water treatment certification (NOT required for hiring consideration).

Responsibilities of Wastewater Operators:

• Learns and gains skills involving the maintenance of equipment and servicing work in the plant
• Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent
• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
• Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
• Observes and reports abnormalities to supervisor
• Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
• Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
• Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
• Understands and carries out oral and written directions
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
• Performs other duties as required
