Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining files to support legal proceedings.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge and experience with residential and commercial closings including, but not limited to, preparation of contracts and leases, title ordering on ATIDS, ordering of all tax and lien searches, obtaining estoppels, preparing, and reviewing title commitments (and requirements), preparing title objection letters, preparing policies, preparing seller's documents, preparing closing statements, reviewing, and explaining loan closing packages, and handling all related closing matters.
- Have working knowledge and experience with post-closing workflow such as preparation of title policies, 1099 reporting, client and lender correspondence, and related issues.
- Manage client correspondence, through letters, phone calls, and e-mails.
- File maintenance - keeping all calendar items current, ensuring notes are always up to date and files are in the proper order.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Real Estate.
- Must be able to process a real estate file from inception to closing.
- Must be able to pay high attention to details, perform well under strict deadlines, and communicate effectively with members of the team to accomplish tasks on time and accurately.
- Must have strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software if needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Education:
Minimum certificate or associate degree in legal secretary or legal assistant; however, may substitute experience for qualified/skilled candidates.
