Cost Accountant

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Cost Accountant in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, every day is different. You will analyze financial data to help steer the company in the right direction. This will entail looking at inventory, product variances, and various balance sheet accounts to highlight risks and opportunities for the business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Ensures accurate and timely reporting for management.
• Support development and submission of monthly financial forecast.
• Prepare monthly commentary for US and German Headquarters.
• Proactively reviews and monitors moving average trends, excess & obsolete inventory, production order variances, and other key inventory accounts.
• Performs ongoing maintenance in SAP of material costs.
• Supports preparation of annual cost roll.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly financial summaries for management.
• Provide both internal and external auditors with requested information.
• Prepares ad hoc reporting for both US and German headquarters.
• Use complex digitalization tools like Alteryx and Tableau to write custom reports.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Accounting or Business w/ Accounting emphasis.
• Master’s Degree preferred, Accounting or Business w/ Accounting emphasis.
• 1 years of related business experience is preferred.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, complex digitalization tools such as Alteryx or Tableau.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and work under time pressure.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
