A Snapshot of Your Day
Will be preparing product and parts shipments ensuring that are identified and accounted for, in all necessary records. Will lay out material for inspection.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Will check the order numbers and identity items being shipped against customer orders, packing lists, or other information.
- Prepares lists, tags, and similar papers as necessary, for attachment to a shipping container.
- Will check completed shipments that all requirements have been met.
- Maintains records of the amount shipping on orders. Prepares charges for material used, time charges, and similar shipping expenses.
Maintains stocks of standard shipping cartons,
- boxes, packing, and similar supplies.
- Note discrepancies in materials or items to be shipped and information on shipping papers and reports to the supervisor.
- Sorts incoming packages or containers and repacks or re-arranges for direct delivery to specified areas, and shipment addresses to specific company personnel.
- Operates manual or powered material handling equipment as required.
- Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of shipping functions and related forms and documents.
- Knowledge of traffic rates and routing of shipments via various carriers.
- Ability to operate power saws and small powered tools.
- Knowledge of shipping guides, postal and express rates, regulations, and classification manuals.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
