The Contract Administrator position resides in a strategic and dynamic environment within the Passenger Rail Systems & Solutions Business Segment. The position requires advanced knowledge in construction contract management. The role supports leading contractual deliveries and analyzing and responding to customer letters. You will communicate and present information to partners about all contract-related matters. Also known as a Quantity Surveyor, you will take the lead for all contract admin matters and expertise on verbiage and requirements for assigned government contracts. Due to close interaction with our Project team and customers, we cannot support a remote work situation.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Support Project Risk management initiatives and drive transparency for all projects assigned
- Professionally administer all contractual issues/documents through all stages of the contract lifecycle, including preparation, execution, and completion.
- Lead process team reviews and document process changes; apply structured problem-solving techniques to drive process solutions and improvements
- Performs comprehensive review of all Mass Transit contracts for all projects in execution
- Regularly monitor exception reports and ensure timely completion and accuracy of data for various projects and contracts within assigned areas.
- Collaborates with Commercial Project Managers and Project Managers to help facilitate payment from customers for disputed invoices and takes corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Maintain records for correspondence and documentation concerning established contracts and those in progress
- Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what is best for the company
- Lead in developing the contract within the Contract Admin team; participate in new hire and ongoing group training and work with internal customers to integrate/align processes.
- Ensure contract enforceability through a review of contract language and interpret how to implement the contract
- Early involvement with sales teams as part of deal structure and providing expertise to ensure proper administration.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a Customer Administration Services role, booking agreements, addressing billing inquiries, and dispute resolution.
- BS/BA Degree in Law, Juris Doctorate preferred, with experience in Government Law.
- Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated ability to apply problem-solving techniques, creativity, and critical thinking to drive continuous improvement
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting and finance principles. Ability to interpret the application of contract law principles. Validated ability to apply advanced communication skills to address internal and external customer inquiries in a friendly, timely, and positive manner while listening to the nature of the questions asked
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on attention to detail and sound judgment
- Proven ability to manage projects/tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results
- Adaptable to change and to work well within a team environment
- Proven ability to follow the process and obtain required documentation/materials to meet government/business/quality requirements and deadlines (i.e., ISO, FDA)
- Possesses an in-depth understanding of legal terminology and can explain complex jargon to their colleagues in simple terms to ensure that all parties understand what they agree to when signing a contract

The base salary range for this position in Pittsburgh, PA is $76,425 - $127,375 and the base salary range for New York City, NY is $91,650 - $152,750.
