Position Description:
Siemens DI Software is looking for an engineering student with interest in Finite Element Analysis to work directly with the Simcenter Femap software development team. Simcenter Femap is an advanced engineering simulation software application that creates finite element analysis models of complex engineering products and systems, and displays solution results. Femap can virtually model components, assemblies or systems and determine the behavioral response for a given operating environment. 

Responsibilities will include:
  • Perform modeling sessions with Femap then use the Simcenter Nastran Finite Element solver, another Siemens DI Software product, to perform analyses, thus exercising new and existing features in the software. 
  • Provide User Interface design direction and participate in planning of new features. 
  • Verify accuracy of current learning materials and update these materials as necessary - potential to author new learning materials. 
  • Participate in development of custom applications for use by customers and/or the FEMAP development team using the FEMAP Applications Programming Interface (API).

Qualifications:
Must be a self-starter able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision. Must have above average ability to communicate with our small, dynamic software development team. Ability to program in any programming language (Python, C , C#, Visual Basic for Applications, FORTRAN, etc) is a plus.

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $44.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
