The Vice President of Business Segment, Hematology, Hemostasis, and Urinalysis (HHU) will lead a $500MM business segment with a team of 20 marketing and product management professionals with full responsibility for the “upstream” and “downstream” marketing (end to end marketing), product communications, product launch and messaging as well as managing the HHU product portfolio across the global segmented into 8 zones: NAM, LAM, SWE, NWE, CEEC, CHN, APJ, JPN (8 zone business leaders).
Additional objectives for the role include achieving greater outcomes with the existing product platforms through improved product messaging, brand management, sales training, sales tools, and sales support. It is ideal that this position establish tight linkage and working relationship with the global field-based teams.
The Vice President of Business Segment HHU will have a seat on the Specialty Lab Solutions (SLS) Business Line (BL) Leadership Team and work closely with peers in R&D, Finance, RA/QA, Clinical Sales, and Supply Chain Management and collaborate across the other peer franchise groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Accountable for sustaining and maximizing market share and profitable growth in markets against competitors with specialized and/or selective offerings, typically add-on core-lab suppliers (Sysmex, Beckman, Stago, Wefren, etc.)
§ Drives value levers for strategy plan and establishes competencies to enforce commercial focus.
§ Defines launch timelines, zone or country release goals and business plans for innovative offerings.
§ Manages operational performance (e.g. Product positioning, pricing incl. PRF, Contribution Margin, Gross Profit).
§ Acts as owner of Business and conduit for SCM, Service, zones for product line specific topics. Responsible for Integrated Business Planning for assigned product lines
§ Supports zone or country marketing programs and sales incentives schemes.
§ Accountable for HHU product portfolio management (“conception to death”, 5 year product roadmap, prioritizations, and lifecycle management of on-market products). Responsible to identify and drive product line synergies.
§ Supports achievement of Zone-specific BL targets & implementation of countermeasures in line with Zone Business Lead.
§ Effectively communicate to zone marketing on Market situation, competitive intelligence, project updates, supply chain and overall performance.
§ Responsible for resource allocation and prioritization across HQ functions
§ Leading role model for marketing best practices such as creativity, management, research, branding, analytical.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
§ Advanced understanding of the IVD business sector is required. Hemostasis/Hematology experience is desirable but not required.
§ 15 years of successful experience in medical technology/diagnostic sector as a marketing/business leader.
§ Preferred: Commercial (Sales) experience at some point during career. It is desirable that the candidate has “carried a bag” at some point and understands the needs of the field sales team.
§ Strong driver with proven change management and team development experience
§ Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managing complex marketing projects
§ Has deep experience in market launches and successful commercialization of new platforms / products.
§ Excellent knowledge of the medical device market and the healthcare environmental changes.
§ Demonstrates full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
§ Experienced managing multiple exempt-level employees and/or other managers.
§ Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization’s business practices and issues faced to the successful completion of complex assignments and problem resolution
§ Objection handling and conflict resolution skills
§ Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
§ Strong intra-organizational and external contacts, including within function, domestic, global business unit, external vendors and key customers.
§ Strong business acumen, analytical and strategic thinking required Capacity to manage cross functional initiatives
§ Relentless, Reliable, and Entrepreneurial attitude
EDUCATION
MBA or Masters in a related field / BS in related discipline, or advanced degree, formal business qualifications an advantage.
COMPENSATION
The compensation package will include an attractive base salary, cash bonus and equity, based on qualifications.
The pay range for this position is $232,000.00 - $319,000.00 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
