The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday 7a-3p.
Job Purpose:
The Client Care Specials provides direct care to individuals who are enrolled in a Siena Francis House program, emergency shelter or Miracles, who need care and oversight while in isolation due to COVID 19. This position will be a direct care role and be responsible for checking in with clients who are in isolation ensuring their needs and wellbeing are being met, delivering meals and incidentals, taking temperatures and symptom screening as needed, providing emotional support, documenting duties and communicating “hand-offs” in writing and verbally. Requires involvement with other Siena Francis House programs and services and may include coordinating transportation for clients. Assists in moving clients to and from isolation when needed.
Incumbents in this position will need to ensure proper precautions are being used for managing clients who have tested positive for COVID-19 as well as individuals who are quarantined and are awaiting testing results. Training and necessary personal protective equipment will be provided for this by Siena Francis House.
The position’s primary location will be in the emergency shelter program and will implement agency policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure services to clients meet agency’s standards of care. Position will float to Miracles for COVID management in that program and may be assigned shifts/work in that program when there are no clients in isolation. Completes Homeless Management Information System [HMIS] and other documentation and reporting tasks as assigned through agency policies, procedures, and protocols.
These positions will provide services 24/7. Therefore, there will be three duty shifts including 1st shift from 7am-3pm and 2nd shift 2:30-10:30PM and overnight from 10PM to 7AM. Position schedules require one weekend day, see job posting for each position’s assigned schedule.
These are full-time positions and are qualified for agency benefits.
Essential job Duties:
- Providing direct supervision and support of the men and women who are enrolled in a Siena Francis House program.
- Models the agency’s mission statement in all interactions with clients.
- Completes assigned documentation tasks—including HMIS data entry, facility condition checklists, and other items—and follows up item as needed as outlined in the Siena Francis House protocols, and/or as assigned by supervisor.
- Builds rapport with clients and—to the extent possible—familiarizes themselves with individuals’ housing plans in order to support client efforts to resolve their episode of homelessness.
- Supports client’s connections to other service providers by helping to communicate referrals, appointments, etc. to the extent possible.
- Help monitor residential facilities for safety.
- Conduct monitoring of client behaviors and address behaviors that are not consistent with expectations for Siena Francis House programs as needed.
- Assist and provide supervision of self-administered medications.
- Complete room Inspections.
- Support and track client bed assignments including length of time spent in isolation and date of positive testing to manage length of isolation.
- Complete intakes into Siena Francis House programs including initial screenings and orientations.
- Help and support clients housing goals as appropriate.
- Cross trained to assist in shelter, residential treatment and other areas when needed.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position as it requires a high-level of interaction with tenants and team coordination.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in providing direct care to adults in a social service or residential care setting is preferred.
- The ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency and recognize signs/ symptoms of medical emergency and behavioral health issues.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and be organized with extreme attention to detail.
- In the course of daily work, the incumbent alternates physical activities such as sitting, bending, stooping, and walking.
- The work environment may have extended working hours, frequent time constraints, and shifting priorities, contributing to physical and mental stress.
- Continued development of resiliency skills and practice.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working with clients who experience homeless and/or may suffering from substance abuse addiction and/or mental illness is preferred and not required.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Basic Computer skills required.
