The Human Resources Manager utilizes expert interpersonal skills to identify problems, prepare solutions, and nurture job satisfaction for all personnel. The primary function of the role involves benefits administration, compensation, and policy enforcement, but there is great opportunity for developing and refining systems. A detail-oriented mindset is a must to handle the evolution of our workforce. A love of mentoring and coaching is essential for effective leadership of the Human Resource department.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and coordinates the organization’s workforce to best leverage the talents of our employees.
- Prepares, processes documentation and/or reports and administers tasks relating to personnel; disciplinary disputes and injury investigations, grievances, performance management, compensation, benefits and leave.
- Fields employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors.
- Coordinates the performance appraisal process by ensuring appraisals are completed for all employees in a timely and constructive manner.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develops, implements and documents company policies and procedures.
- Supports recruitment by sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, conducting reference checks, arranging health assessments and extending offers of employment.
- Manages employee leave of absence requests and maintains tracking sheet to ensure accurate and complete files related to employee leaves of absence.
- Performs fact-finding activities related to new workers compensation claims and maintain up to date and accurate records of existing claims ensuring any communications with claimants and carriers are properly documented in files.
- Assists with employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Partners with employees and Leadership Team to communicate and interpret various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
- Participates in the development and implementation of programs and policies across all aspects of HR.
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Requirements
COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or 4 years in related experience
- Professional Certification in Human Resources desired
- Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret & apply employment-related laws and regulations required
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong facilitation and conflict resolutions skills
- Intuitive and inspiring leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- An analytical mind and refined problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to proactively respond to time-sensitive matters
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Obtain a health clearance form from a medical provider
- Obtain a negative tuberculosis screening
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift/carry 20 pounds
- Ability to engage in frequent computer work
