What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer (Stress Analyst) III (Contract) position at Sierra Nevada Corporation?
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
This specific role is within the Commercial Derivative Aircraft System (CDAS) Business Unit of IAS' Aircraft Integration Systems (AIS) organization. CDAS responds to Customer requirements to integrate new and/or enhanced capabilities into the Customer's aircraft or fleet of aircraft. CDAS, as the name implies, normally makes modification to aircraft originally intended for a non-military purpose, anything from single engine turboprops all the way up to multi-(jet) engine aircraft; most commonly CDAS works with PC-12, Dornier-328 aircraft, Bombardier Q200 & Q300 aircraft, and PZL M-28 aircraft. Specific capabilities fall generally into the categories of communications systems, (ISR) sensor systems, aircraft defensive systems, and avionics systems. CDAS designs solutions which incorporate the desired "best of breed" components, and then integrates into one or more aircraft as required.
