We are looking for a Dentist to join our team in Sacramento, CA!
Sierra Oaks Dental is a patient-centric practice with a long history of delivering excellent care in both general and cosmetic dentistry in Sacramento since 1974. We are proud to be active members of our community and have a solid reputation for delivering excellent care to our patients throughout Sacramento. We are currently in a new, two-story building that features more than 15 operatories. To accommodate the practice’s rapid growth, we are looking for a dynamic, patient-focused Dentist to work with us.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, confident communication skills with patients and staff members, will be committed to self-improvement, and believe in motivating others through positive interactions. The position is 2-3 days a week and compensation is based on percentage of production. We are also a fee for service practice.

The Associate Dentist is the representative of leadership, exceptional dental care, service, and results in our practice. They must adhere to the highest standards of dental practice, ethics, service, and professionalism. They actively promote the practice with internal and external public activities resulting in an increase of new patient flow and their own patient base. They create relationships with patients, parents and the allied health care community to promote the practice’s vision and values and create “raving fans” that refer and recommend our services. They are committed to ongoing continuing education and strive to reach high standards in the office and the community.
As a mentor and a role model the Associate Dentist supports and enhances the practice’s systems, trains and coaches team members, and strives to achieve the goals and strategies of the practice. KEY GOALS/BENCHMARKS OF ROLE
· Achieves daily, weekly, monthly production goals set in the Annual Plan
· Supports the practice’s goals in: collections, expenses management, number of new patients, case acceptance, etc.
· Creates a “peak performing” active patient base for ideal viability and results
· Abides by the ideal scheduling templates
· Works with the team to keep NS/CXs and late patients to the ideal goal
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Care/Patient Management
Performs high quality dentistry with consistent results that support our vision of care.
· Daily review of records in preparation for patients and morning huddle.
· Examines patients to determine nature of dental condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.
· Diagnoses and treats oral disease, injuries and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
· Follows guidelines for “Creating an Excellent Patient Experience” description and executes the game plan described in this document
· Hygiene Exam: Address the patient Chief Concern, Review of Health History, Reviews Summary of Findings from Hygienist, Performs OCS, Clinical Hard/Soft Tissue Exam along with joint and muscle examination when appropriate. Captures and Utilizes Intraoral Images and /or Discovery Photos of Concerns to use during co-discovery portion of the exam and presentation of findings.
· Provides/prescribes preventive dental services to patients, such as prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, sealants, and education in oral and dental hygiene.
· Cleans, fills, extracts, and replaces teeth using rotary, hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements.
· Efficiently carries out administrative duties of patient care, chart recording, and reporting in a timely manner.
· Uses Education Videos to support findings and or consequences during case presentation in order to gain the appropriate feedback as to creating the treatment plan based upon the needs and desires of the patients.
· Counsels and supports patients to help them ensure that they pursue ideal treatment choices for themselves and follow-up with optimum home care/maintenance.
· Enters and Phases Out Treatment according to the patient needs and desires and hands off to the treatment coordinator verbally including “the why” and consequences, level of urgency, and time requirement for the first visit for FA Preparation upon Checkout
· Invests in learning and exhibiting excellent influencing skills that promote treatment acceptance and accountability.
· Is continuously learning and growing through new technology and clinical initiatives.
· When not directly treating patients, is involved in following-up on patients, reactivation, marketing to our referral community, and participating in on-going team projects. Follow up includes but is not exclusive to care calls, new patient welcome calls, cancelled appointments in the form of a text, call, or email.
Practice Management
· Use great verbal skills to discuss, with confidence, the life-changing dental transformation that patients/parents have seen, and the amazing talents of this team.
· Ask patients for a referral/online testimonial and hand out a business card. Quality care is always the best marketing.
· Write or call patients/parents that made a special impact on the office thanking them for being our patient.
· Participate in all team meetings by being prepared with assignments, offering insight into trends and statistics, and engaging in brainstorming activities to support the practice goals.
· Actively participate in and oversee all marketing and social media strategies that reinforce the brand and marketing strategies of the practice with our patients and allied healthcare community.
· Actively participate in all continuing educational opportunities to expand your skill set.
· Complete Daily 5 checklist for your role each day.
· Complete all assigned tasks in the Spear Platform Action Center.
Teamwork
· As a doctor in the office, be a role model for good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
· Working as a team player as part of the clinical team which includes helping other team members in seating patients, setting up or turning over rooms, and helping maintaining a sanitary facility.
