Job Posting for Financial Controller at Sierra Precision Rolled Products
Sierra Alloys, a key supplier of Titanium sheet and plate products to the Aerospace Industry is hiring a Controller. We are looking for a hands-on Controller to execute, oversee, and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities. The candidate will identify, resolve, and report discrepancies while providing recommendations to maintain and improve overall performance. $130,000- $150,000 total compensation package.
Responsibilities
Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
Managing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process and preparation of financial reporting packages
Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
Establish (in coordination with COO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
Coordinating activities of external auditors
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
Qualifications
10 years of professional accounting experience.
5 years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
Professional certification, such as CPA or CA.
Advanced Computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office software.
Experience in accounting, cost accounting, purchasing.
Solid manufacturing based financial and operational knowledge.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, operation planning and cost reduction.
Excellent analytical and auditing skills. Proficient in verbal and written communications.
Individual characteristics should include team oriented, flexible, and organized and possesses absolute work ethics and moral values.
Ability to continually and constructively question and challenge the current practices and processes.
Competencies should include: Innovation, management practices, leadership skills, judgment, and good initiative, attention to detail, team oriented.
