JOB TITLE: Sorter
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Quality Control Supervisor/ Quality Control Lead
Job Summary: Sorter is the last line of defense to remove foreign material and defects from the finished product before quality analysis.
Essential Functions:
- Manually remove foreign material and almond defects from the product while moving on conveyor belts.
- Must have good dexterity to remove defects and foreign material from the belt in a timely manner.
- Must have visual ability to detect defects and foreign material on a moving belt.
- Capable of receiving and following instructions.
- Communicate issues to quality control employees as needed.
- Able to work in warehouse environments of varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Assist sanitation with cleaning the facility and machinery to maintain the facilities.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent. (Preferred but not required.)
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous experience (preferred but not required)
- Must be able to rotate shifts: (Day, Swing, and/or Grave) on a weekly basis.
- Able to lift up to 5 - 50lbs.
- Able to be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.
Training Requirements:
- Must understand and comply with Sierra Valley Almond procedures and policies, GMPs, food safety rules, and safety practices.
Pay Frequency:
- Bi weekly or Twice monthly
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: Up to $15.50 per hour
