Summary:
Provides on-the-job-support and assistance to persons who face barriers in procuring and retaining gainful community employment. The Employment Specialist is responsible for providing and documenting on and off-site employment services through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) and waiver services. The Employment Specialist will be responsible for an assigned caseload and will follow the essential functions of each persons Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Additionally, the Employment Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining community partnerships to provide job opportunities for individuals served. The Employment Specialist is expected to meet or exceed all deadlines, and follow all procedures required by Siffrin and its affiliates. Employment Specialist is required to obtain or provide proof of obtaining CESP certification within one year of employment at Siffrin.
Essential Duties:

Provides on-the-job training to those served.
Offers input and assistance in the development of an employment plan for those served.
Completes written documentation and daily accountability forms as required and submits all paperwork for processing in a timely manner.
Assesses employment skills of individual and helps determine training areas.
Analyzes job tasks to develop training programs.
Provides supervision to the individual at the worksite.
Assists in creating, advocating for, and maintaining workplace accommodations as needed.
Learns and utilizes all special adaptive equipment as needed.
Utilizes fading techniques to withdraw staff support as appropriate.
Assists in providing a safe working and learning environment for those served.
Assists in developing and modifying curriculum for educational programming.
Advocates for integrated relations for the person served with their employer and co-workers.
Negotiates work-related issues with employers, such as schedule, site modifications, etc.
Maintains a high standard of quality production as per employers expectations.
Has the ability to work in a variety of work environments (i.e., laundromats, restaurants, factories, offices, etc.)
Reports any individual or employer problems that may arise to the Program Manager of Siffrin Academy immediately.
Transports individuals to and from places of employment as necessary or assigned.
Serves as a positive representative of the agency and the employer within the community.
Adheres to the employers workplace rules and regulations.
Attends assigned meetings as required by supervisor.
Communicates effectively and appropriately with persons served, supervisors, community partners, co-workers, and affiliates.
Maintains or begins working towards obtaining their Certified Employment Support Professionals (CESP) credential within the first year of employment.
Markets the program and is a positive representative of the agency and the department in the community.
Seeks to maintain a collaborative, safe, and positive environment that consistently promotes the improvement of services Siffrin provides to persons served and their team.
Implements agency and department policies and procedures, and maintains compliance with all laws, codes, regulations, and standards (i.e., CARF accreditation standards).
Participates in at least 10 hours of ongoing training per year including all required agency training: CPR, First Aid, MANDT, Bloodborne Pathogens, Safety and Emergency, Delegated Nursing and MUI/Individual Rights.
Completes other duties as assigned by the Program Manager of Siffrin Academy.
Follows the Siffrin, Inc. Code of Ethics in fulfillment of duties.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
To perform required duties, must be able to carry, move or lift supplies and materials; work with equipment and supplies up to 25 or more pounds: the employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear, use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch and reach with hands and arms.
Work is conducted in an office environment, as well as in a production environment. Drives to and from other work sites for meetings, in-service, or training may be required. The employee may be subject to adverse weather conditions when driving and be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, potentially infectious materials and/or aggressive behavior.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a bachelors degree preferred.
Must meet the agency requirements with respect to background and motor vehicle checks.
Must have basic computer skills including Word, Outlook, and internet-based knowledge as well as how to navigate and complete basic tasks.
Must meet and maintain all requirements for CESP certification, including meeting all work experience and mentorship hours, providing documentation as requested, and successful completion of the CESP exam.
May be required to pass a TB test, provide proof of COVID vaccination and/or any other vaccinations or tests as required by partner employers.
Schedule:
Employment specialist position is required to work Monday through Friday, with occasional duties in the evenings and on weekends, per the needs of assigned caseload, employer availability, and the schedule of persons served.

Salary : $28,400 - $35,900
