House Director Position for Sigma Kappa Sorority -
Ann Arbor, Michigan:
The Alpha Mu chapter of Sigma Kappa at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is seeking an energetic and organized House Director. This position is a salaried, live-in role for 9 months of the year with housing, meals and utilities included during the collegiate school year.
The House Director reports to the volunteer Corporation Board comprised of Sigma Kappa alumnae and works in tandem to support an inclusive culture and open communication between member residents and staff. The House Director shall:
- Join monthly meetings (in person or via Zoom) with the Corporation Board
- Have the ability to effectively communicate housing needs, challenges, and projects
- Serve as a liaison between the 60 member residents onsite and the Board
- Monitor the state-of-the-art Security System
- Have basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office suite, texting, scanning, etc.)
- Be able to create and maintain budgets with appropriate record keeping
- Stay aware of collegiate trends and campus life
- Be a positive role model, cooperative, approachable, and available to the residents
- Have an open-door policy during office hours to welcome conversation and relationship building with the residents
- Work closely with vendors, alumnae volunteers, contractors, and other campus contacts to complete projects successfully and communicate effectively
- Coordinate day to day with Chef and Housing Staff on priorities, tasks, and special events
- Work with members to plan and execute special events
- Understand the need for discretion, confidentiality, and individual challenges students may experience
- Abide by the Sigma Kappa housing polices and code of conduct: the chapter house is a smoke, drug, alcohol, and pet free property.
