POSITION SUMMARY
As a staff level position in the Operations department, the Production Planner is responsible keeping records of incoming material, managing inventory, and following through with work orders to allow for completion of product in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure customer requirements are met on schedule, with maximum performance and minimum delay
- Coordinate production workflow to one or multiple programs and products.
- Ensure materials needed to cover production demand are met by working closely with material planning.
- Monitor jobs by shift to ensure tight production schedules are met.
- Minimize delays in the value stream by identifying potential issues and disruptions, along with providing problem solving solutions to remove those issues and disruptions.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Two (2) years’ additional education and/or work-related experience
License/Certifications
- N/A
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning) and ERP systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES (KSA’s)
- Proficient with Microsoft office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment
- Proficient at math and statistics
- Possess troubleshooting and organizational skills and the ability to adjust to changing requirements
- Customer service skills including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working hours will be spent in the factory or warehouse
- Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking, and lifting is required on a daily basis
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
- Noise level varies and can be loud
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to walk. The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud.
- Usual plant environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of machinery and equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to equipment and machinery use.
