What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Automation Engineer – Design position at Signature Automation?
Signature Automation is a professional engineering services firm with offices in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas. We are a rapidly growing firm specializing in all aspects of electrical, instrumentation and controls (I&C) design, industrial control system programming, and IT infrastructure design, networking and consulting services.
We are currently seeking a full-time mid-level automation design engineer to join our team in the Dallas office.
Essential Functions
- Perform industrial control system assessments and prepare preliminary design reports (PDRs)
- Develop detailed technical documentation such as project plans and specifications, engineering reports, etc.
- Support senior staff in development of Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC)
- Perform witnessing of field acceptance test (FATs) and field inspections
- Mentor junior staff
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure within 18 months of hire
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Familiar with design documents including data sheets, instrument drawings, I/O wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&IDs
- Experience in water/wastewater preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- AutoCAD and MicroStation experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be available to work in Dallas, TX
