Maintenance Technician - Gary, IN

Primary Purpose: 

Signode is seeking new talent in Gary, IN, ready to join forces with the leading worldwide manufacturer and distributor of protective packaging systems that apply plastic, steel strapping, and stretch film. We are hiring a Maintenance Multiwall Technician who will ensure that production and operations are running safely and at the most efficient levels achievable, producing the highest possible quality of production and is ready for the next step in their career.

Hours:

1st shift: 6am-4am or flexible to a 7/ 8 am start or 2nd shift: 3pm-1am

Pay: $28.00-33.00 Depending on qualifications

The Maintenance Multiwall Technician duties include assisting with troubleshooting and repairing equipment utilizing prints, schematics, electricity, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge. You will perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, preventative maintenance measures, repair equipment, and supply inventory. Must quickly respond to safety issues or concerns that may put production employees at risk for injury by checking and inspecting assigned equipment, reporting findings to the supervisor, and taking appropriate action while performing basic repairs on forklifts to maintain production levels.

The Maintenance Multiwall Technician must understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair. Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical issues, experience with PLCs, welding with MIG or arc welder, operating a forklift with Scissor Lifts preferred, and lathe operation. The position requires 5-plus years of industrial maintenance experience in an exciting manufacturing environment. Candidates must possess previous forklift experience; however, we will provide training, so you must be motivated and willing to learn new tasks.
