Position Description

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Systems Engineer to join SilencerCo's IT team. The ideal candidate will have experience with the following; VMware, Enterprise Networking, SAN/NAS, Server Infrastructure, BCDR, SQL, and Linux. You are someone that is detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, passionate, and results driven. This role is responsible for engineering, optimization, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of all on-prem and cloud servers, VOIP systems, internal applications, and hardware assets. As a part of our IT department you would demonstrate superb technical competency and knowledge, supporting mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, security, and support.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and support a robust VMware environment
• Engineer, implement, and support NAS/SAN infrastructure
• Design, implement, and maintain IT systems that align with the company's goals and requirements.
• Maintain and support a large pool of computer assets
• Is responsible for managing and maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory and Domain Controller
• Works with IT management to design and implement new systems and applications.
• Monitors scheduled jobs for completeness, accuracy, and errors.
• Carries out regularly scheduled BCDR tests
• Prepares and deploys new assets
• Manages an asset inventory system
• Monitor, analyze, and report on the server/systems infrastructure to maintain system scalability, integration, redundancy, performance, and functionality
• Installs, configures, and manages; security applications, vulnerability software, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, AntiMalware, etc. on servers and systems
• Co-manage a network security appliance
• Maintains Unified Communications, VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms.
• Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as a result of test findings and risk assessments.
• Creates scripts for automation of common tasks.
• Manages ticket queue with little or no supervision.
• Responds to and resolves tickets in a timely manner.
• Assists IT team in completion of IT help desk tickets.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

Job Qualifications

• Advanced level systems/server administration knowledge
• Experience with any of the following: NAS appliances and software, Windows Server 2012 - 2022, Security applications.
• Experience with managing a complex and large server environment
• Experience with deployment of enterprise hardware assets
• Basic working experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Mac/Windows/Linux based environments.
• Advanced experience with VMWare systems.
• Must have experience with Active Directory.
• Must have a positive attitude, work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-Motivated and self-starter.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Information Technology certifications:
• CompTIA A Certification (Preferred)
• CompTIA Server (Preferred)
• Security Certification (Preferred)
• AWS certified cloud practitioner certification (Preferred)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (Preferred)
• Availability to be on-call nights and weekends.
• Ability to work on elevated surfaces, ladders, and scissor lifts.

*Required Education and Experience*

• Relative college education (Minimum of a 2 year IT related degree)
• 4 years of systems engineer/administrator experience and IT related experience.
• Ability to operate and or be trained on how to operate scissor lifts.
