Title: Packing & Sanitation Operator
Working place: Hoffman Estates, IL
Hours: 1st shift

Pay: 19.00-23.00 depending on experience

We are looking for a full-time non-exempt Production Operator, to follow duties on a daily basis as outline by Production Manager to create a safe and efficient working environment putting the needs of completing duties in a timely manner with the intent of servicing the customer as the priority while maintaining a safe environment.

Essential Functions - To pack all flavors blended that day. Clean all vessels and other components scheduled by Shift Team Leader, help as needed, in the production area. Focusing on deadlines, efficiencies and producing a quality product. The Operator is expected to follow all SOP’s (standard operating procedures), GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Principles), and Food Safety Guidelines. · Package finished flavors into containers. Any questions should be taken to the Production Manager.

· Label all containers with correct labels

· Submit sample of order completed to QC lab for inspection.

· Clean work area after each order is completed.

· Clean all components used in the producing of flavors.

· Be prepared to assist in/or clean any area of the floor where spillage may have occurred.

· Must follow all programs put in place by company to insure a safe, clean, and friendly environment to work in.

· Assist co-workers in understanding issues that they may not understand or that you may have difficulty understanding.

· Assist with the performing schedules related to but not limited to cleaning, equipment, and general procedures to be followed in the work area.

· Ensure that materials are in their proper space and properly closed for storage.

· Make sure that packaging material is good condition for use.

· Follow all trainings and guidelines set up Silesia Flavors for your safety and in maintaining a healthy working environment for all.

· Adhere to Silesia’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) rules, and Quality Safety responsibilities as assigned.

· In addition to the preceding assignments, the incumbent is obligated to carry out individual tasks that, in essence, belong to his/her duties or where this is dictated by company needs.

· Food Safety duties assigned

· Forklift training and safety.

Required Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous production experience.
• Position involves use of respirator; must be willing and able to comply with medical questionnaire and fit testing.
• Must be able to work in varied indoor conditions which may include; cold, heat, strong odors, loud noises, etc. with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity, including the ability to lift/ move fifty

(50) pounds.

• Experience in food manufacturing a plus.
• Sit-down forklift experience/Certification is a plus.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in a laboratory or production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear appropriate personal safety protection equipment. This equipment will vary based upon the work location and type of work being performed but often will include safety glasses and may include protective clothing.

Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to use a respirator as necessary. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to stand for extended periods and moderate physical activity. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be willing and able to comply with fit testing- respirator mask as needed and annual certification required.
