Are you looking for stable employment? Silgan Containers is looking for an Accounting Clerk to work at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Breinigsville, PA. Come work for the nation’s leading manufacturer of metal food containers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform clerical accounting procedures requiring basic to intermediate experience with accounting practices under US GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Support Controller with monthly accounting close tasks, including preparing journal entries and generating reports.
- Input production and usage into ERP system from inventory control system.
- Assist Controller with inventory cycle counts and resolving count variances.
- Interact with various departments to gather accounting data and assist in problem resolution.
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, filing, scanning documents, copying and processing paperwork.
Job Requirements:
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or related field of study or equivalent experience.
- 1 - 2 years accounting experience or related field preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong time management skills
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed to accommodate work fluctuations and deadlines.
- Experience using integrated ERP software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate experience in Excel.
- Must be self-motivated.
