Plant Controller

Job Description: *
Have you ever wanted to establish and lead the finance function in a state of the art can making facility?* If so, Silgan Containers, the largest high-speed can manufacturer in the US has an opportunity for a Plant Controller at our facility in Savage, Minnesota.
The position is responsible for:

• Overall accounting office activities to assure functions are performed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner while ensuring compliance and adherence to all internal and SOX controls with a solid understanding of GAAP.
• Direction of the financial activities at the plant, including, but not limited to: General Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Customer Orders and Invoicing, Cost Accounting, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Contract Administration, Financial Closing, Capital Expenditure and Fixed Asset Administration, Production Planning, Inventory Management, and Annual Budgeting and Monthly Forecasting.

Job Requirements: The preferred candidate will have the following credentials:

• B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration.
• A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
• Honest and fiscally responsible.
• Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency on excel.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively influence others at various levels of the organization.
