Controller

Job Description

A leading building supply company is looking for a Controller to join their team. The main responsibilities include preparing and monitoring the company’s financial reports, which include balance sheets and income statements. You will also execute internal controls, such as reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements and operational financial reports, as well as assist in any compliance audits and monitoring internal controls to ensure that everyone does their job correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Book general ledger journal entries and post accounts payable
• Process payroll weekly in ADP
• Maintain and close ERP (Infor) modules and generate monthly financial reports
• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
• Manage company cash flow to maintain balances to operate
• Maintain internal control safeguards, including reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and operational financial reports
• Assist in any compliance audits, including collaboration with external accountants
• Maintain and renew company insurance programs
• Execute HR responsibilities, such as process new hires, terminations, and insurance enrollment
• Filing of invoices, check payments, or other supporting documents
• Provide back up support and assistance in any special projects
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, construction management
• Experience working with ERP software, such as inputting invoices, generating reports, etc.
• 5 years' experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
• Exemplary history of financial project management and decision making
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
• CPA highly preferred
• Ability to collaborate with leadership to support financial analysis and decision making
• Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
• Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
• Familiarity with data analysis to monitor trends
