Position: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Nashville, TN

Overview: This position is responsible for assisting with tax operations in the Company’s accounting and finance department. This position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Tax.

Main Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for preparing and reviewing various areas of the Company’s tax exposure, which include, but are not limited to:

• Consistent monitoring and updating of tax calendar and tax accounts including registration of new accounts, payment on file, and monitoring good standing with State Secretary of State offices.
• Overseeing the payment and accrual of property tax on land and tangible personal property holdings.
• Preparation and filing of ad valorems, assisting with PILOT applications, and PILOT payments.
• Sales Tax, including calculating, filing, accruing, and responding to notices.
• Compiling information to assist with tax projections, quarterly estimates, and external requests for tax information.
• Respond to notices from Local, State, and Federal taxing authorities.

In addition, this position will help support any federal or state audit examinations. The position will work with other staff and senior accountants as an initial point of contact for tax-related questions. This position will also be responsible for filing annual reports, business tax returns, state specific renewals, and other tax related filings. This position will also work with our third-party compliance team to provide support when necessary.

This position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Tax on quarterly estimated tax expense for both above the line and below the line tax. This position will also help other departments within Silicon Ranch for tax related support including, but not limited to, Business Development, Project Finance, Legal, HR, Project Development, Project Management, & SR EPC.

This position is expected to have a strong tax background and be proficient in excel. This position is required to be a certified public accountant or enrolled agent, or be in process of CPA exam with plans to finish. Additionally, they should have a well-rounded tax background with exposure to either indirect tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, or a combination of all three.

Qualifications:

Education:     Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

                        Active CPA license, or CPA license in progress, or EA

Experience:   2 years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting, but experience in a large corporate tax department will be considered.
