Are you W2 or 1099?
Company Drivers are on W2, Contractors on 1099. We follow the law.
How do your drivers make that much with ELD?
50% of our freight is drop / hook. While others are waiting to be loaded / unloaded, you are rolling.
Do you pay breakdown pay?
Yes. If we can't get the truck fixed and you're losing time / money, then we will pay you for that. However, our trucks are all new with a warranty, so they don't really break down.
Most of the time, if it can't get fixed in a day or so, then we will get you a replacement truck so you aren't sitting and waiting for the truck to get fixed.
When am I paid?
We pay out weekly. All trips delivered between Monday and Sunday get paid on Friday. Some banks hold direct deposits for an extra 1-2 business days.
Most drivers see the funds in their account over the weekend or Monday / Tuesday.
Do you offer a sign-on bonus?
No. Our goal is not to get you to join based on a "sign-on bonus" trick that most companies use. We rather offer you steady work and good pay.
Am I paid for orientation?
Yes. All company drivers are paid $100 per day for orientation.
Job Requirements and Policies
How much experience do you require?
2 years minimum but we prefer drivers with 5 years.
Do I have to have an X endorsement to start?
No, we can help you get it when you feel ready. X endorsement drivers get an extra $0.08on all miles.
Do I have to unload the freight?
No, we are a no-touch company. Most of our freight is drop / hook.
Do you offer lease or are you a company driver only company?
Yes, we offer lease and company driver positions.
Do you require nighttime driving?
No, but if you have hours to drive and you aren't tired or sick, then you're expected to be on time. If you are empty, then take the night off.
Are you a W2 or 1099 company?
Company Drivers are on W2, Contractors on 1099. We follow the law.
Equipment and Logistics
Are your trucks manual or automatic?
Automatics. We would love to have manuals, but it's hard to order new trucks in manual.
Do you detail your trucks before I start?
Yes. We detail each truck from the inside and outside. We make sure that everything is cleaned to the "T" and put an ozone machine to kill off any smells.
Our goal is that every truck looks brand new.
Do you have cameras?
Yes. All trucks have outside-facing cameras. The inside cameras are optional. If you use the inside camera, then you are paid an extra $0.02 per mile.
Inside cameras can still be covered while stopped if you choose to get the extra $0.02 per mile.
What are your trucks governed at?
Our trucks are governed at 65 mph on the cruise.
Why are your trucks governed so low?
The areas we service have an average speed limit of 60-65 mph on the highway. We don't unlock them to 75 because there is no need.
You'd be going 10 over the speed limit.
Where do you fuel?
Our network for fueling is any Loves truck stop. We have others approved as well, but 99% of our fueling is done at Loves.
How do I wash my truck / trailer?
We have a Blue Beacon account. Go in at any time and you can get it washed without having to call us. Winter Time : once between the 1st and 15th of the month, and once between the 16th and last day of the month.
Summer Time : once per month.
Trailers can be washed multiple times. If you need additional washes, just let us know.
What ELD do you use?
We use Samsara, a very easy ELD to use.
Operations and Routes
Where do your lanes run?
60% of our lanes are in the Midwest, 10% in the Southeast, 10% in the South, 10% in the West (up to Colorado), 10% in the Northeast.
Your ad says you go to the Northeast, where in the Northeast?
We don't go to New York City or high traffic areas. Our Northeast freight goes directly to large warehouses and industrial locations like Harrisburg, PA, Butler, PA, Hartford, CT.
We don't take freight to high traffic areas since most drivers don't want to drive in those areas.
Do you offer drop / hook?
Yes, about 50% of our loads are drop / hook.
Personal Policies
Do you allow passengers?
Yes. The policy is about $12 per week, and the passenger can't be a CDL holder.
Do you allow pets?
No. We've had issues where it's hard to clean a truck after pets, or drivers are allergic so we can't accept pets. We want to make sure every driver is happy with the truck you are driving.
What is your home policy?
Every 7 days out is 1 day off. Most of our drivers work between 11-14 days then take off 2-3 days. However, if you live nearby the locations we listed above, then you'd be by the house every couple of days.
Additionally if you need more time just let your dispatcher know.
Can I take my truck home?
Yes. If you have a safe place to park and you get it approved with Safety, then that is fine.
Orientation :
How long is your orientation?
3 days. We start orientation every week on Monday. Depending on the size of the class, we can get done in two days, but usually, it rolls over into the third day.
Who pays for transportation / hotel during orientation?
We pay for all of it.
