SALARY RANGE: $120,000-$130,000 DOE. The Director of Spa is responsible for all aspects of the resorts’ Spa operation, including and not limited to increasing profitability, payroll and budgeting, enhancing fitness programs and spa retail. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service, employee centric and enjoys fast paced environment.


Essential Functions

  • Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
  • Must align with KSL’s TBO Strategy and focus on recruiting and retaining top talent.
  • Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
  • Focuses on Unifocus guest scores and ensures the feedback is addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and increase Spa revenue.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses and payroll.
  • Maintain high-performance work environment and provides leadership throughout areas of responsibility to insure optimum internal and external partner relationships. Works collaboratively with departments to create unique events and promotions for the resort guests and members.
  • Participate in the development and oversee the implementation of the spa operating budget.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of each program area and see that programs are continually updated accordingly.
  • Research and develop new spa treatments and programs to create new packages.
  • Conduct regular formal spa staff meetings for purpose of informing, training and inspiring staff.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the spa facility.
  • Establish and pursue the mission and vision of the Spa.
  • Forecast for revenue, payroll expenses, and all other expenses.
  • Order equipment and supplies and maintain inventory control for all spa areas.
  • Plan and coordinate evening seminars/presentations to guest on spa related topics.
  • Recommends special projects/promotions and executes them as directed by the General Manager/VP.
  • Perform daily walk-through inspections and weekly written inspections and follow-up.
  • Oversees ongoing development and positioning of Spa offerings in terms of overall concept, brand positioning, latest treatments & menu offerings.
  • Participate in overall hotel/resort decisions as a member of the Executive Committee.
  • Maintain compliance with Silverado Resort policies, standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the resort.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in Spa management required, with two years in top management in high quality, luxury-oriented resort spa or destination spa facility.
  • Must have hands-on knowledge of retail/spa systems as well as industry best practices and operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Work Conditions and Schedule

  • The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required as well as flexibility with work schedule.
  • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time may be required.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift.
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility.
  • Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling.
