Silverado Calabasas is looking for a Resident Care Coordinator!
Position Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 an hour
Shift Schedule(s): Full-Time, Monday - Friday

The non-negotiables:
- High school education or equivalent required. If the person has a clinical nursing license, may have expanded duties.
- At least one year of experience working in long-term care preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and/or related dementia highly desirable.
- Computer skills sufficient to manage a database and scheduling software are essential.
- Person must have excellent communication skills and ability to calmly manage staffing emergencies.
- One year of experience supervising others to include: setting performance expectations, coaching, motivating, promoting collaboration and teamwork, promoting company culture, managing change, providing performance feedback, delegating effectively, resolving conflicts, etc.
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with pets and assisting in the care of community pets, including, but not limited to, dogs, cats, and birds. Willing to demonstrate passion and ability to work with people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related disease.
- Ability to work as a team member with other Silverado community leaders/department heads to develop quality assessment and improvement programs.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Must exhibit empathetic communication style with residents, families, and associates.
What you will be doing:
- Manages the scheduling function of Silverado.
- Maintains a database of caregivers and is familiar with schedule availability and preferences.
- Understands resident needs and makes appropriate scheduling decisions.
- Develops excellent rapport and relations with caregiving staff.
- Responds in a timely and creative manner to emergent scheduling needs.
- Develops excellent relations with Silverado community staff.
- Assists with recruiting of caregivers including interviewing, shadowing with, and conducting searches as requested.
- Provides updates regarding new caregivers, call-offs, and scheduling needs.
- Provides updates regarding use of overtime to Administrator and Director of Health Services.
- Coordinates and helps to manage the training and education of resident care staff on an ongoing basis.
- Verifies all associate hours on timecards and weekly hour’s report.
- Completes nursing schedules to assure proper coverage is met to meet resident needs.
- Observes residents’ health status, takes actions to address concerns within scope of practice, and reports all significant changes, reactions to medications and treatment or significant incidences in a timely manner.
- May reviews capabilities of resident who self-administer medications on a regular basis (refer to state regulations regarding medication assistance and documentation).
- Performs ongoing assessments of resident physical and psycho-social needs and coordinates with Director of Health Services to assure quality proactive care as allowed by state regulation.
- Assists the DHS or Administrator with the communication with the families regarding a resident's personal needs and achievements.
- Reminds families of need for scheduled physician, dental, or eye appointments.
- Assists in organizing and developing service plan reviews as required, with appropriate resident care team members and resident families. May participate in Service plan meetings.
- Observes residents, records significant reactions, and notifies of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly safety and infection control checks of the home and grounds, assist with resident health and safety purposes.
- Coordinates monthly staff schedules, arranges replacement staffing when necessary and maintains clear records of all changes, requests, and irregularities.
- Participates in the maintenance of resident records.
- Assists the DHS and/or the Administrator by managing the clinical training program for Lead Caregivers.
- Assists the DHS with ordering clinical supplies
- Assists the leadership team and associates with new resident move-ins
- Participates in department quality improvement activities.
- Participates in community functions including family socials and open houses.
- Communicates with community professionals.
- Other duties as designated.
