JOB OVERVIEW:
Establish 100% guest satisfaction for guests by assisting in the supervision and operation of the Housekeeping Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting in cleanliness of rooms and all programs in Housekeeping Department.
- Inspecting and verifying guestrooms and public areas, meet or exceed established cleanliness standards.
- Reviewing daily assignments and scheduling for accurate records and status.
- Running and reviewing rooms status reports and make assignments accordingly.
- Assigning VIP rooms and inspecting VIP rooms to standards without exception.
- Recording room status in system to put back into inventory and note reason any room unable to be serviced timely.
- Secure keys in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Reviewing assignments, reports and requests from prior shift, recording and taking appropriate action for discrepancies, maintenance and housekeeping deficiencies.
- Maintaining control of supplies, linens, and amenities.
- Minimizing waste and replenishing when there are shortages.
- Reporting broken equipment for repair or replacements.
- Ensure that all supplies, cleaning material, equipment and clean linens are secure, free of clutter and hazards, in assigned storage/linen closets.
- Verify carts are in good working condition, stored properly, and all equipment and areas secured when not in use.
- Prepare requests for replacement of furniture, fixtures, vacuums, carts, drapery, bedding, etc.
- Monitor team’s performance and recommend corrective or disciplinary action.
- Assisting in scheduling for proper shift coverage, payroll procedures, attendance and time-keeping record management.
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties such as filling out supply requisitions, maintenance request forms, and updating log books, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Sitting a desk performing administrative work with some standing or walking during 6-hour or longer shifts up to six (6) days per week.
- Carrying or lifting to 50 lbs.; finger, wrist and arm dexterity for repeated use of paperwork, computer keyboard, stapler and telephones.
- Carrying, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling may be required.
- Preferred prior experience using hotel reservation systems such as OnQ and Nuvola; and software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet search engines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Must speak fluent English. Fluency in other languages, such as Spanish.
Other:
- Proficient speaking and reading in English; ability to write clearly, legibly and with good grammar to fully convey the meaning of his or her report.
- Basic math skills; problem solving, reasoning, decision-making and mentoring skills.
