Position is responsible for review and monitoring of the entire bank’s loan portfolio. Each associate is responsible for monitoring credit risk through file reviews, performing credit analysis on specific borrower, conducting data analysis on the portfolio to determine trends, risks, process flaws, etc. Function assists in ensuring all risks are identified and monitored as related to the lending function. Take lead roles in certain projects or job functions. Could serve as backup to department/group manager if needed. Will be expected to work completely independent of direct oversight.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review loan portfolio to determine level of credit risk.
  • Complete analytical research on the loan portfolio include concentration analysis, stress testing, exception trends, etc.
  • Assist in the methodology and process for calculating the allowance for loan losses.
  • Prepare summary reports for Board and Management review
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly asset quality reports
  • Review and approve all change of loan status forms and complete impairment analysis as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking of credit discounts on acquired assets.
  • Will work more independently, mentor less experienced associates and be more proactive in examination and discussion of risks.
  • Will take lead roles in certain projects or job functions.
  • May serve as backup to department/group manager if needed.
  • Will work completely independent of direct oversight.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.

  • Ability to lead or mentor the work of others.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, procedures, business correspondence, reports, and memorandums.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures manuals, general business correspondence, and/or journals or government regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents.
  • Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information, in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.
  • Education and/or Experience
  • BS/BA degree required, and
  • Four to six years of relevant work experience.
  • Computer Skills
    • MS Office programs
    • Other internal bank programs

  • Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)
    • Must understand financial statements
