Surgical Coordinator desired for Multi-Specialty,Multi-Physician Ophthalmology Practice.

As a key member of the AECS Ophthalmology team you will play a critical role in the growth and success of our business. For our practice, sincere customer service and patient care are of utmost importance. In this position, you will keep high-volume details orderly and concise while being friendly and compassionate, switch between tasks quickly, efficiently, and flawlessly, travel to surgical sites to coordinate care, have a keen sense of how to prioritize tasks, and at times work a flexible schedule when needed.

What you will be doing each day:

• Ensure all elements of the patients’ surgery experience is a success.
• Educate and comfort patients on their upcoming surgical experience, including best lens choices.
• Interact with patients and their families, physicians and other staff providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
• Speaking, informing, and reassuring patients in regard to their surgical procedures.
• Work with physician during patient’s initial surgical consultation visit.
• Provide and gather pertinent consents, perform any necessary work-up/testing for surgery, obtain all pre-operative medical clearances.
• Schedule all surgery and post-operative care appointments.
• Obtain referral/authorization as needed.
• Communicate and work with Billing office regarding patient financial responsibility.
• Coordinate co-managed cases; communicate with Optometrists.

Your qualifications should include:

• Impeccable communications skills (verbal/written)
• Friendly, sympathetic, and professional demeanor
• 5+ years customer service
• 2-5 years in medical office environment
• Have worked in a Practice Management System and are familiar with Electronic Health Records.
• Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and calmly, keeping up with various physicians/facility changes and nuances
• Familiar with CPT/ICD 10
• Familiar with Navinet and Insurance websites (preferred)
