What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator- Metal Roofing Systems position at Simon Roofing?
We are a national commercial roofing contractor looking for a Metal Roofing Systems Estimator to join our organization and work with our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Boardman, OH. The Estimator position is responsible for analyzing existing commercial roofs take offs, providing solutions of either a repair, restoration, or replacement and estimating the solution.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing complete, accurate estimates for all size of roofing contracts and contract types: lump sum, time and material, and Fixed Price Quote. (i.e., contacting suppliers for material, rubbish, hotels, rental equipment etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Engage cooperatively with company staff, including Executives, salespeople, Superintendents technicians, and Foreman to assemble documentation, prepare estimates and value engineer roof solutions.
- Review site or technician documents and define scope of work.
- Execute take-offs of technician documents and utilize computer applications to expedite cost analysis of material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Engage cooperatively with Project Managers, Production Superintendents and Foreman to ensure accurate estimate and the best value solution. Assist with completion of project paperwork, warranties, and building owner requirements.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, field inspectors, and customers.
- Report to company offices and field locations as required for scheduled meetings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Three (3+) years in commercial roofing
- Two (2+) years in commercial roofing estimating
- Three (3+) Metal roofing systems experience
- High School Diploma (Required)
- College Degree (Preferred) and/or training in commercial construction industry estimating.
- Advanced project estimator skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, and Outlook) and database software.
