POSITION SUMMARY The Systems Implementation Engineer will support the implementation and maintenance of the Simons Award Manager (SAM), a SmartSimple software platform replacing the foundation’s previous grant management system, ProposalCENTRAL. Reporting to the VP of Business Technology and working alongside the SAM Systems Manager and business stakeholders, the Systems Implementation Engineer will configure enhancement requests and assist with troubleshooting when issues arise. Additionally, the Systems Implementation Engineer will also collaborate in the implementation of other business applications, assisting with their integration and functionality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as the subject matter expert for SmartSimple and other systems being implemented. Respond to tier 2 and tier 3 technical requests and system issues. Work with Business Analysts (e.g., Systems Manager) and the Grants team to review and analyze options within SmartSimple software and determine the best way to configure based on the requirements. Transform functional requirements into detailed technical designs that represent actionable development tasks. Configure features and enhancements for existing functionality based on the established project roadmap. Perform quality assurance testing related to configuration work. Perform root-cause analysis and resolve technical issues reported by end-users. Participate in the assessment of the efficiency of the system process and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and suggest changes. Analyze data in SmartSimple to ensure data quality. Assist with the data migration effort from current grants management systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business-related discipline or equivalent work experience Experience At least 4 years of experience transforming functional requirements into detailed technical designs for a CRM, SAP or similar system Working knowledge of SQL query, JavaScript, HTML, XML, CSS Experience developing and implementing systems using Agile/Scrum methodology Experience with the software development lifecycle Experience with data governance Knowledge of SmartSimple System preferred but not required Strong skills in MS Office and project-tracking tools Related Skills & Other Requirements Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills Ability to gather and document complex business requirements Ability to complete multiple tasks while working under deadlines with competing priorities Excellent interpersonal skills Exceptional attention to detail and task follow-through Great team player with respect for others and ability to work independently Enthusiasm for new technologies and new media REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS Please submit a résumé and cover letter stating your interest in the position.
