Summary
Contribute to the global registration process for biotech food crops. Actively participates as part of a small team by contributing to the writing of technical biosafety reports and regulatory submissions. These contributions will include compiling information, writing about various food and regulatory topics, formatting documents, editing and proof reading, and assisting with government submission logistics. High level of attention to detail required for document management and submission integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical writing support to regulatory team, including document formatting and reference management
- Writes portions of final reports and regulatory submissions
- Manages regulatory documentation system
- Manages translation (vendor) administration and payment
- Provides administrative and technical support to regulatory team
- Completes technical work individually or as defined by more senior team members
- Helps collect biological samples from the field/greenhouse plants for regulatory studies
- Participates as an active and positive member of regulatory team
- Assists with regulatory submission logistics, such as document collation, packaging, and shipping documentation
- Works effectively on multiple, high-priority projects
- Applies growing technical knowledge and initiative to streamline support functions and documentation management
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field or equivalent education and experience may be considered
Relevant Experience
- Skilled in technical writing and editing in English. Ability to write information in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct way
- Understanding and knowledgeable in plant biology, molecular biology, genetics, or related field
- Proven use of critical thinking skills to solve problems and gather data for regulatory document preparation
- Attention to detail, good organization and verbal communication skills
- Some experience leading activities for a project, meeting deadlines and communicating technical issues and concerns.
- Experience in document management
- Basic management and planning sills
- Skilled at office computer programs e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and customers
- Ability to gather and disseminate information, analyses, and technical solution recommendations in support of team efforts.
