YOU
As a Tool Room Assistant, you will be responsible for working with and assisting tool room machinists in their daily Tool Room duties. In this position, you will gain valuable knowledge of the tooling trade and, if successful and ready, transition into a Tool Room Machinist Apprenticeship.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Support Shop operations through organization, cleaning, machine maintenance, tracking tooling inventory, and supply/materials/tooling coordination. (40%)
Machining of tooling components and related machine shop work and training (30%)
Assist in dispensing tooling and tool kits to operators. (20%)
Rebuild and set up transfer heads for manufacturing headers, any other task required by management. (10%)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
Travel Required
This job requires no domestic travel.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
PAY
$22.31 - $33.46 / hour

- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Technical School Degree completed or started
- Machine Shop experience in any capacity
- Blueprint Interpretation to interpret drawings dealing with the building and repairs of dies.
- Measuring Instruments: Read material gauges, measuring equipment, understand correct placement for new, damaged, or uncalibrated equipment.
- Productivity: Utilize time efficiency
