About SIMULATE
SIMULATE’s mission is to upgrade the world to a positive food system. SIMULATE’s first product, NUGGS, is a chicken nugget simulation made from plant inputs. Since NUGGS launched in the Summer of 2019, NUGGS has evolved into the fastest growing chicken nugget on the planet. TENDERS launched in 2022 using new technology and SIMULATE is currently developing new nutrition technologies, some that will launch later this year.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Product Development team to improve current product formulations and develop new formulations for emerging products.
- Utilize food science background, literature, new ingredients, and sensory evaluations to iterate on and improve sensory and nutritional aspects of products.
- Perform analytical characterization of product composition, texture, and color.
- Work collaboratively with other Product Development team members and the Manufacturing Team to facilitate product commercialization.
- Keep meticulous records of product iterations, clearly present findings, and explain trends in the product development process.
- Frequently meet with and update the Product Development Lead on projects.
Requirements
- B.S. (with 2 years of experience) or M.S. in Food Science, (Bio)chemistry, Biology, Material Science, or a related field.
- Prior experience in product development, preferentially with plant proteins.
- Hands on experience with plant proteins, hydrocolloids, and vegetable oils.
- Prior experience in sensory evaluation and characterization of texture, rheological properties, and color of food products.
- Good time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Prior experience in working with breadings and batters is a plus.
- Prior experience in the development of meat analogs is a plus.
- A desire to be the best in the field.
