GENERAL SUMMARY
The therapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy and other treatment services that affirm clients' strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge.

The therapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy and other treatment services that affirm clients' strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES :
- Conduct psychotherapeutic and other clinical treatment sessions for individuals, families, and groups.
- Complete all required case records and statistical reporting documentation within specified time frames.
- Conduct home visits when clinically appropriate.
- Monitor client's medication compliance and medication maintenance visits.
- Provide direct service for 70% of work hours.
- Facilitate consultation and outreach to assure the provision of holistic treatment.
- Attend monthly all staff meetings, clinical case staffings, and designed in-service sessions.
- Ongoing development of clinical and substance abuse treatment interventions.
- Ongoing monitoring of treatment plan service delivery as it relates to the internal service providers.
- Evaluation for drug abuse/dependence: knowledge of various street drugs used, their effects (signs and symptoms) and drug related behaviors.
- Ability to run psycho-social/education groups: Knowledge of various ways to improve patient's social behaviors and educate patients in group settings.
- Ability to do family education: Knowledge of how psychiatric diagnoses affect behaviors of patient and their families as well as family related phenomena like expressed emotion, tolerance, denial which affect psychiatric illnesses.
- Ability to advocate for and with patients and families in utilizing resources and services: Knowledge of medical and mental health systems and various financial and community available and how patients and families can use them.
- Ability to do medication monitoring and training: basic knowledge of various psychiatric medications and their indications, contradictions and side effects via formal in-service training.
- Ability to engage a patient therapeutically to help them learn healthy aspects of interpersonal social skills, hygiene and grooming and team work in social settings.
- Evaluation of patient in emergency room: Knowledge of presentations in the ER, the process of triage, medical clearance, available resources and options.
- Ability to do individual supportive psychotherapy: Knowledge of basic principles of talking therapies and understanding special features of supportive psychotherapies that make it different from other therapies.
- Ability to do crisis therapy: Knowledge of theoretical paradigm that forms the basis of crisis therapy and its distinction from crisis interventions.
- Masters in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health/ Human Services Field
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred
