The Marketing department is responsible for the development and implementation of the college’s marketing, advertising, social media, branding and brand awareness. This is accomplished by monitoring the design and implementation of all Sinclair publications, digital and related materials for internal and external distribution.
The Digital Designer exists to aid in the development and execution of web design strategy and to support marketing campaigns across traditional and digital mediums. This person develops, tests, and pushes developmental and creative web changes to production across all of Sinclair Community College’s web properties. The digital designer has expert knowledge of web development and design principals, methodologies, and tools/technology. The Digital Designer has the ability to create graphics that fit the technical and creative requirements of various digital marketing tactics including SEM, display, and paid social. This person serves as a subject matter expert for web/digital design and collaborates and knowledge shares with peers across the institution. The Digital Designer makes content updates in a timely and knowledgeable manner, formatting materials to optimize for the web while keeping technical aspects of content management in mind.
The salary range for this position is $55,674 – $74,232 and is determined commensurate with experience.
This position is grant funded and contingent upon the funds associated with the respective grant.

Principal Accountabilities
- Point of contact for creation of graphic assets for Talent and Work Ready Grants. Creates and deploys creative assets to www.sinclair.edu, other college web properties/applications, and various marketing platforms to maximize lead generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional digital team to plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
- Analyzing/reporting outcomes of digital asset creation and deployment.
- Works with IT, academic areas and Admissions to distribute and deploy assets as needed.
- Recommend new strategies or campaign tactics based on data collected from efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in website and digital media design required; a minimum of 5 years preferred
- Working knowledge of at least one modern CMS, and content editing principles including SEO best practices required
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript required
- A strong understanding of design aesthetics, including the ability to originate concepts for conveying ideas through powerful language, design and imagery; using digital mediums and web applications to their full potential while still understanding their limits of functionality required for maximum usability required
- Creative design skills using appropriate design tools and industry software, including UI and UX design, mobile/responsive and web application design required
- Knowledge of the latest trends in web/digital design and adopting these trends where appropriate required
- Ability to manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints and work effectively with internal and external constituents required
