Singer Equipment is a leading food service and equipment distributor. We serve restaurants, country clubs, hotels, caterers, and schools and healthcare.  The Account Manager position is a sales role with promotional opportunities!  Are you a people person who thrives in a busy fast-paced atmosphere?  Do you have a background in the restaurant industry, combined with excellent organizational and communication skills? We will provide the right candidate with specialized training in sales, new client acquisition and account management and retainment. As an Account Manager with Singer Equipment Company, you will be part of a fun, energetic team whose mission is to serve and sell to our valued customers and create new relationships to grow sales.

Responsibilities

  • Build new business by exploring NJ’s restaurant/hospitality scene hunting for new clients
  • Multitask and organize several computer softwares that you will be trained to use
  • Provide exceptional communication and interpersonal skills internally and externally
  • Collaborate well intercompany and with customers with a focus on timely response
  • Be detail oriented and have accuracy in work, and a strong problem-solving skill set
  • Be a professional, trusted and reliable partner to foster positive customer relationships
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, our competitors
  • Employ product knowledge and use tools to optimize and drive sales
  • Make product recommendations to customers based on the needs of their business
  • Build quotes, convey credit terms of the sale, and prepare sales paperwork accurately
  • Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure that customers pay deposits and invoices
  • Submit forecasting and or sales reports or other tasks as requested by manager
  • Travel is required for company functions, sales meetings, conferences, and training sessions

  • Ability to plan and organize own calendar activities; analyze data; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; identify and solve problems; and manage multiple priorities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally

lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  This position will require regular travel via a personal automobile or mass transit which may result in long periods of sitting.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Depending on the assignment, this position may work in a normal office environment or work from a home situation or both.  Account Managers are expected to travel to and from their accounts as needed.  There is very limited overnight travel required (less than 10%) and specifically pertains to company events, staff meetings, training sessions, vendor fairs and client appointments.
