Dakota Fluid Power, a Singer Industrial company, is looking for a General Manager to handle the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Dakota Fluid Power Company. Singer Industrial is one of America’s largest Industrial Distributors with a North American footprint of more than 100 locations with over 1,400 employees. Singer Industrial strives to efficiently improve customer productivity with innovative industrial solutions, while providing employee growth and opportunity. We do this with a robust line of fluid power, hose & fittings, belts, seals & gaskets, pneumatic and automation products, and services.
Job Duties Include:
- Responsible for the overall vision, strategy, and growth of the business.
- Owns P&L
- Develop, motivate, and manage multiple locations.
- Meet sales, revenue, and profit goals.
- Develop and forecast sales projections, analyze results and trends, track competition, recommend pricing strategies, and monitor costs.
- Lead sales team in developing and implementing sales strategies to align with overall objectives.
- Communicate and resolve customer issues.
- Travel to customer locations as needed.
- Responsible for professional growth and performance of direct reports.
- Provide guidance in hiring, promoting, and training of staff.
- Continuous Improvement in processes and reducing waste.
- Maintain working knowledge of company systems, including applicable computer systems and programs.
- Develop a working knowledge of all products, including ability to apply and make effective sales presentations.
- Conduct regular sales meetings to communicate new product and policy announcements, to coordinate and inspire the sales team, and to get feedback from the sales staff.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Successful track record as a standalone leader of multi-site manufacturing organization
- Full P&L responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in business (sales, marketing, finance) or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of distribution industry with preference on fluid power or material handling products.
