What are the responsibilities and job description for the Southeast Regional Director of Environmental Service position at Singh Management Company?
The Southeast Regional Director of Environmental Service is responsible for maintaining and monitoring company standards, procedures, and policies related to the company’s environmental service program. The Regional Director of Environmental Service assists Environmental Service Managers with maintaining systems, grounds, and buildings for the Waltonwood and Singh communities in the Southeast. This position will also provide training and guidance for Executive Directors, Environmental Service Managers, and community environmental staff in all aspects of the environmental service for Waltonwood communities and Singh properties in the Southeast.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide support and oversight of the environmental departments within our Waltonwood Senior Living Communities to ensure high standards of excellence
- Work with other departments, such as multi-family, development, construction, and commercial, to assist with facilities needs as they arise in the Southeast.
- Support the Environmental Service Managers to ensure all policies and procedures are being followed
- Create and implement standards company-wide in regard to environmental procedures: preventative maintenance on community systems, such as HVAC, electric, plumbing, and alarm systems.
- On a regular and reoccurring basis, complete walk thorough of the community, evaluate systems, oversee state and regulatory compliance, prevent and eliminate hazards, inventory, equipment, and capital purchasing relating to the environmental services
- Partner with Executive Directors to evaluate Environmental Service Managers and environmental services
- Assist Executive Directors as needed in the hiring, coaching, and counseling of Environmental Service Managers (as well as supervisors and other associates in the environmental department) for Waltonwood
- Conduct environmental quality assessments and service quality assessments –via both formally planned and informal non-planned inspections
- Oversee the selection and supervision of external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment inventory.
- Monitor maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop and oversee company environmental training based on company standards including but not limited to regulatory compliance and accurate records (building code, state and federal agencies, etc…)
- Perform any other responsibilities/duties as assigned or may be assigned by the Director of Operations for Singh Senior Living Communities to assure the goals and objectives of the environmental service department are fulfilled

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to travel overnight up to 50% of the time. This position will be based out of our Cary, NC office, and will travel to Charlotte, NC and Ashburn, VA on a regular basis.
- Must be familiar with and know how to work with HVAC and electrical systems safely; HVAC certification and/or formal training in Environmental Service preferred.
- 5 years of environmental management and/or supervisory experience, preferred in health care, senior housing, hospitality, or other relevant industries multi-unit experience within the environmental service industry.
- Must possess sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to a wide range of audiences including associates, family members, government agencies, the general public, etc.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Must have good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent Computer Skills
Special Working Conditions:
- Able to work a minimum of forty (40) hours a week and be able to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) and be available to respond during off-duty hours to community issues and emergencies
- Coping skills to personally handle and lead through stressful situations including grief management and death within the community
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation as well as the ability to climb and maintain balance.
