Position Overview
Perform site-specific engineering analysis or evaluation of energy efficiency and solar projects involving residential, commercial or industrial customers. Design recommended solutions to align with customer needs.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
- Provide engineering, design and project support from RFQ to project handover to customer:
- Design and engineer Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure (EVSE) systems, Lighting, Solar and general electrical systems.
- Conduct site visits to gather details relating to preparation of quotes.
- Prepare quotes and other sales and pricing related documents for customers.
- Submit formal designs for approval by Professional Engineers and government permitting authorities.
- Prepare material, labor, services and expense details for accurate project costing
- Support sales staff and customer during the RFQ stage.
- Prepare final Bill of Materials for material purchase after award of project. Facilitate ordering of material.
- Provide back-office support during project execution.
Required Qualifications:
- BS (Electrical Engineering) with emphasis in Electrical Power Systems or equivalent knowledge/ experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in EV chargers, electrical distribution or energy fields.
- Working knowledge of dry type power transformers, switchgear and electrical protection.
- Working experience with AutoCAD software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel software.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) preferred.
- Experience with outdoor electrical systems and electric utility interface preferred.
- Experience with Medium Voltage Electrical Systems preferred.
- Experience with structured data cabling preferred.
- Experience preparing bids and proposals for customers in response to RFQs preferred.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- A commitment to honesty, loyalty, discretion and integrity in all areas.
- Valid Drivers’ License.

- Position requires occasional (20%) travel to office and business locations to conduct business transactions. This involves exposure to weather conditions, traveling distances to and from buildings, and operating a vehicle.
