How you’ll make an impact:
The Associate Technical Producer is responsible for supporting the operation and quality of studio sound and production equipment during live and pre-recorded programs. Operates equipment to record, edit, synchronize, mix and reproduce recordings. Taking direction from Producers, Talent and Directors, participates in the execution of live segments, bits, interviews shows and more. Manage quality control of the audio (and video) and its playback via studio automation systems. Contribute to team innovation and problem solving. Incumbents of this position may be assigned to more than one program and perform slightly different functions across programs.
What you’ll do:
- Checks studio equipment for proper functioning prior to going on air, reporting technical problems and equipment malfunctions. Work to resolve any issues.
- Runs the audio board for various live and taped programs and edits audio for on-air use.
- Ensures that on-air product is up to broadcast standards before it leaves the studios.
- Works with writers, producers, and talent to provide technical feedback to help enable the creation of content including but not limited to segments, bits, call, shows, performances etc...
- Continues to explore options/resources to improve efficiency and quality of our automation and sound quality.
- Assist with daily automation tasks like checking that commercials are scheduled properly and that all logs have been loaded system.
- Provide support and assist in the operation of 2 full-time channels that broadcast 24/7.
- Assist guests and talent with their home broadcast setups.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or business preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.
- At least 2-5 years’ experience working with radio studio equipment and playback/automation systems.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Highest level quality control skills.
- Self-starter.
- Be a constant professional and have proactive meaningful interactions with high level talent, guest, and leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous use of RCS NextGen (Prophet/Zetta), Adobe Audition, Pro Tools..
- Proficiency in ISDN and Codec operations.
- Operating studio sound equipment.
- Solid understanding of audio signal flow.
- Experience mixing audio in a live and post scenario to create a professional sounding product.
- Mac OS and Windows knowledge.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
